Information
JOTA stands for Jamboree on the Air, which means that scouts all over the world will be communicating with each other through air by radio contact.
JOTI stands for Jamboree on the Internet, which means scouts all over the world will be communicating with each other with chat programs on a computer.
Place & Time
The JOTA-JOTI always takes place in the third entire weekend of October and is held for exactly 48 hours, from Friday night 00:00 to Sunday night 24:00 (Local time).
The Dutch JOTA-JOTI organisation will be opening the event for the Dutch contestants on vrijdagnight 22:00 local time with a special opening-broadcast. Afterwards the dutch contestants kan start up their connections on the various frequencies and check in with their Rayon JOTI-JOTA Advisor (RJJA). The end of the JOTA-JOTI is on sundaynight 24:00, there will be no special closure for the Dutch contestants.
Because of the time-difference the period in which people will be active during the event is now equal over the entire world. During the middle 24 hours of the 48 hour during event the entire world will be active on both JOTA and JOTI. Next to the time-difference there might also be a complication because of the amount of short-wave-radio waves, which have a important influence on the possibilities of the connections.
